There is no Manuel 5 :-) there are only 2 gears and this is called planetary gear. Everything is fine with the rpm.

@@marioromanmrp there is a manual 5. It is software driven. Hook up a tach on a scan tool and drive at 100 kph in manual 5 and manual 6 or D. RPM is higher in manual 5. I have a 2008 GSh in the US. Makes a difference. Possibly at 240 kph it maybe override manual 5 and go to D but at lower speeds it makes a huge difference in rpm.

@@marioromanmrp sport mode is controlled by the rocker switch on the console. Shifting into “manual” mode is covered by the owners manual. Please read it. When the shifter is placed in the left position the gear indicator shows 5 not S. Pulling down is 4, 3, 2, 1. Pushing forward goes to 6. The LS600h ranges 1-8. Same transmission with awd added. The car is unable to use best torque of the engine in manual 5 at top speed. You need to shift to 6 or best leave in D. The shiftable modes according to lexus are for software “downshifting” when additional engine braking is desired.

Zwei Jahre später und ich besitze auch nen gsh 😅😅. Das ist tatsächlich eine 5 im Display. Aber das hat keine Relevanz beim CVT. Ich nutze den Sportmodus nur bei Bergabfahrten um den HV Akku besser zu laden. 😬

I don't think that's it, the revs hardly change. I do know that this engine has both indirect and direct injection so perhaps it's changing modes att his point?

Might as well reply now... better late than never :) The electric motor driving the wheels is behind a 2-speed auto. At 120 it spins at about 10000rpm, drops to about 4000 once it switches gears. Might be a bit off with the numbers, but still - that's the reason. This is on the gs450h (all iterations), ls600h (and the new century I guess), crown s200/crown majesta s210. Crown s220 and ls500h/lc500h use the "multi stage hybrid" 4-speed auto after the conventional mg1/mg2/ice/psd set, to my knowledge.

Because the car is rear wheel drive, the transmission has to be narrower, thus the cvt pulleys are smaller so they had to make the tranny 2 speed cvt. Even in city driving it does the same shift at 45mph

Quentin Dewasmes Italia has dual clutch and RWD. Has so much advantages. Huracan destroys it so easily.

Electric assist goes away. However, the car regenerates electricity through the motor, braking and coasting.

Above 70 km/h the electric motors don't do anything anyway, they'll stop acting like motors and start working as generators to recharge the battery. So ,the answer to your questions is: nothing.

It is not that awful to be honest... This is a dual planetary transmission which is way more reliable. At the end you won't be driving this car on high revs, so you won't feel any difference. :)

@@alexander_vetrov Ну так коротко вроде не напишешь. Машина не новая. Батарейка если родная то готовиться к замене. В России частенько 5 цилиндр умирает. Контрактные движки недорогие вроде. Коробки дешёвые. Машина дарит удовольствие. Расход даже по сегодняшним меркам невысокий.

@@alexweb2 ...дружище, вариант у меня с автосалона, 2008 года, пробег 166тыс, салон ухожен, светлый - это очень понравилось, т.к текущий у меня чёрный, некоего всё таки колорита хочется. Думаю, как бы проверить ВВБ на дальнейшую пригодность в самом автосалоне. Планирую поехать с товарищем, он с радиоэлектроникой связан по профессии и будет крайнее попадалово, если втюхают с банально мёртвыми элементами, а они весьма недешёвые. Про новые даже не заикаюсь по цене.. Понятно, что они не "новые", но чтобы хоть пару лет эксплуатации были у меня для комфортной езды. В морозы передвигаться вообще не любою - авто будет выходного дня... чиркани, буду благодарен за любые "подводные камни". Живу в городе, ок.80-90 тыс.населения, у нас реагентами не сыпят. Ближайший, гибридный ремонт, но очень хороший по отзывам в 140км. от места планируемой "дислокации" автомобиля. Запись за неделю к ним, это не пугает и если бы жил в городе, где сама мастерская - это было бы *_большим плюсом._* Я если всё правильно понял, то в крайнем случае смогу доехать чисто на двигателе и конечно, мой выбор сопряжён с некой, но всё таки экономичной составляющей по топливу. Увы, тёплым гаражом разжиться не получилось, это в перспективе, авто прямо выражаясь, будет стоять прямо под моими окнами. Как мыслишь бро?
